Kariuki grew up Anglican in Kenya, Eastern Africa. He knew about God, but did not quite understand His gracious salvation via our Lord Jesus Christ. It was not until the end of his high school that a friend introduced him to the doctrines of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Kariuki had noticed a jubilant confidence in his friend Gisemba, and when he asked him where he got that confidence from, Gisemba mentioned it was from knowing Jesus. Shortly thereafter, Gisemba and Kariuki would immerse in dedicated scriptural reading. He would eventually accept God’s salvation and get baptized in 2006 via immersion in the Indian Ocean.
Kariuki joined the Baptist Church through his host family in Houston, TX in 2010. He has remained a member since then, having joined the CCBC family in 2017. He finds great joy from CCBC members and is active in the Church choir. Furthermore, Pastor Joel and Brooke have been constant encouragement in his budding relationship with girlfriend Jedidah. Their leadership and mentorship has been instrumental in continuous spiritual growth.
Kariuki’s favourite scripture is 2nd Corinthians 3:18. He invites you to worship at CCBC every Sunday from 10am. Thank you.

Here at Commonwealth Community Baptist Church (CCBC), I feel elated, privileged, and blessed.
It was here that I learned what it means to be saved and to live for God. I love the people, the different ethnicities, the variety of backgrounds and cultures we have in our church.
Commonwealth Community Baptist Church is my family. If someone wants to hear the Word of God taught right and made clear, this is the church to come to.
