Review of Accuracy of Translation

Here is our review of Robert Martin’s Accuracy of Translation.
While there is no shortage of books showing the deficiencies of the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible and its various updates, Robert P. Martin’s contribution on this topic is one that deserves to have a place on the shelves of both Pastors’ studies and seminary libraries. Written in 1989 when the NIV was still ascending in popularity, a popularity that is now in decline, Martin’s treatise does a thorough and convincing job showing quite simply that the NIV is a poor translation of the NT that ought to be retired from popular use. It is through the following 6 chapters that Martin will show quite clearly that the NIV is an inaccurate translation of God’s Word.
